Meetings at the Trimpell Centre re-commence from 15-JUN-2021. See the Events page for further details.
Morecambe Bay Amateur Radio Society (MBARS) has been established since 1953 and meets fortnightly on Tuesdays (see the Events page) from 7.30pm at the Trimpell Sports & Social Club, Out Moss Lane, Morecambe, LA4 4UP. Initially we meet in the main bar.
We use the callsign G4YBS when operating from our recently refurbished radio room. We have regular meetings with talks, radio operating nights and competitions. Anyone interested in finding out more about radio and related areas will always be made very welcome.
On alternate Tuesday evenings (see the Events page) we host free training for the RSGB examinations, required for obtaining your own transmitting licence.
Many of the various amateur radio activities do not require a licence, such as radio direction finding (fox hunts).
